Platinum Counter Electrode

This Standard Platinum Counter Electrodefeatures a coiled platinum wire (99.99% pure) mounted at the end of a chemically-resistantepoxy rod. A fritted glass tube isolates the counter electrode from the maintest solution. The glass tube is equipped with a PTFE adapter suitable formounting the tube in a 14/20 port on our standard electrochemicalcells. Alternatively, the counter electrode may be removed fromthe glass tube and mounted directly in the electrochemical cell.

 Description

This Standard Platinum Counter Electrodefeatures a coiled platinum wire (99.99% pure)mounted at the end of achemically-resistant epoxy rod.  A fritted glass tube isolates the counterelectrode from the main test solution. The glass tube is equipped with aPTFE adapter suitable for mounting the tube in a 14/20 port on our standardelectrochemical cells.  Alternatively, the counter electrode may be removedfrom the glass tube and mounted directly in the electrochemical cell. The coilis fabricated from a 0.5mm OD Pt wire that has an approximate surface area of4.7 cm2. The approximate diameter of the coil is 9 mm. The 6.9mm OD black epoxy rod is 150 mm long. The overall length of the rod and thecoil is approximately 180 mm.
